The Eight Parts of Speech
- Noun: a name of a person, place or thing. Example: Karachi, book, teacher.
- Pronoun: used in place of a noun. Example: he, she, it, they.
- Verb: an action or state. Example: run, is, think.
- Adjective: describes a noun. Example: tall, blue, honest.
- Adverb: describes a verb, adjective or another adverb. Example: quickly, very.
- Preposition: shows relation. Example: in, on, under, between.
- Conjunction: joins words or sentences. Example: and, but, because.
- Interjection: shows sudden feeling. Example: Oh! Wow!
